Details:
1. Create one 2-3 minute video titled “Why I want to be a Web Designer or Web Developer or Web Teacher”
2. Posted it on YouTube
3. Send the YouTube url link to WOW at challenge AT webprofessionals.org or on the contact us form no later then May 16, 2010
4. We will send you a response that we are in receipt of your challenge submission

WOW will:
1. Select the best 5 to 10 finalist
2. Post them on the WebProfessionals.org Website
3. Award one student a $150.00 cash prize and one teacher a Web Pro Training Scholarship (Value $495.00) to the winner by the contact information in their e-mail
4. Award three semi-finalists a WOW T Shirt and certificate

The Why I Want to Be a Web Pro Challenge “Why I Like Being a Web Design, Web Development Student or Web Teacher” is sponsored by the World Organization of Webmasters (WOW), P.O. Box 1743 Folsom, and CA 95763. WOW is a not-for-profit professional association providing community, education and certification for Web Professionals.

Eligibility:

The Challenge is open to students or teachers that are legal residents of the U.S. states with the exception of California, USA who are 14 years of age or older at the time the challenge commences. Minors and those under 18 are required to have their parents or legal guardian’s permission to participate. Winners of the challenge will be required to document in writing parental of legal guardian approval prior to the winning announcement. Signed consent forms can be transmitted by facsimile (fax) to 916 987-3022. The Challenge is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law or regulation. Participants agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant that it determines, in its sole discretion, is ineligible to participate in the Challenge.

Electronic entries must include a valid e-mail address, url of the “Why I Like Being a Web Design, Web Development Student or Web Teacher” for the entrant. In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” [defined as the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) of the email address submitted at the time of the entry.

Summary:

In order to enter the Challenge, you must enter your name, email address, and school name by e-mail to info at webprofessionals.org on the contact us form. By providing your name and email address, you become an official challenger and you agree that you have read and understand the rules and conditions. Click here to read our privacy policy. To enter the Challenge, you must transmit a description by video (2-3 mins) posted on YouTube.com of Why I Like Being a Web Design, Web Development Student or Web Teache is beneficial to you and e-mail us with the YouTube.com url in the time period outlined in this challenge. The WebProfessionals.org editorial staff will review and may edit all entries before posting. Entries deemed irrelevant, potentially libelous or inflammatory will not be posted. Entries must be based on your own personal experiences. There is a limit of one entry per participant. Once the Challenge has begun, wining entries will be posted within five working days at the conclusion of the contest, following review by the WebProfessionals.org editorial staff.

“Why I Like Being a Web Design, Web Development Student or Web Teacher” semi-final winners will be selected by a vote of WebProfessionals.org editorial staff. over a five day period starting at May 16, 2010 and ending at May 21, 2010 The first round of voting will begin on May 17, 2010 at 8 am and end May 21, 2010 at 11:59AM. Results may also be obtained by sending a written request to WebProfessionals.org, or by snail mail at P.O. Box 1743 Folsom, and CA 95763.
